Daily Menu – Tuesday

Tuesday Meals 2

First day of a week off work and I’m already wishing I was back at work! lol

My kitchen was being painted on Friday but the paint (Dulux) was that bad that it’s taken more coats than was thought necessary and so it’s only just been finished today.  This has thrown my menu plans all out.  I was supposed to have had a slow cooker meal (which has a “bread type product” as an accompaniment) tonight but because the majority of my kitchen was in my living room, there wasn’t enough room for the slow cooker to be put in there too so we ended up having a quick(ish) “look in the freezer” tea.  I’m going to do tonight’s tea tomorrow, but this has meant moving tomorrow’s dinner (it also contains a “bread type product”) to the weekend.  This has played havoc with my OCD! lol

I knocked my finger this morning and it started bleeding again cry, thankfully I found a strip of plasters in the back of the medicine cupboard and so was able to cover it – I don’t think the mortgage advisor at my bank would have appreciated shaking hands with me with my finger pumping blood! lol  I did contemplate calling into the walk-in centre on the way back (had to pass it to walk to the place where my son was going to pick me up), but I figured that it perhaps is just going to take a little time to heal properly and I’ll just have to be careful until then.

I’ve been tracking using the app I was talking about on  Sunday. It’s got some + and some – points as opposed to the WW app/esource but I think I’m going to get on with it. I’m going to have to make time to plan my meals at home though as I usually do it at work – I get to work early (due to making sure of a parking space) and I usually use that time to plan my meals online via esource on the WW website.  Unfortunately I won’t be able to do that as I can’t get WiFi at work 😦 (lousy NHS razz) – pity they don’t do a website too lol

Tuesday Meals 1

Note to self: when planning on having chicken fajitas it’s a good idea to add the full ingredients AKA Old el Paso cooking sauce to your shopping list!

Those of you who know me know that I always plan my meals a week in advance and I make my shopping list from these meals and stick rigidly (well the majority of the time wink ) to the list, so why did I not add the sauce that I always use?  Oh well I’ve saved myself an extra pp today which means that I can either have a hot chocolate or a frothy milky coffee 😀

Anyway I ended up raiding my cupboard and I came up with something that wasn’t too bad (just chucked a little bit of everything in the picture – including 1 tsp of olive oil) into a jug, mixed it altogether and marinaded the chicken, onion and peppers for about 10 minutes). I would’ve liked it a bit more spicy but my son doesn’t like too much spice.

I’m seriously getting worried about my memory.  I’ve got a small leak under the kitchen sink – seems to be coming from the tap.  My sister had a look but she couldn’t fix it so I had to call a plumber.  I remembered the one who replaced my shower last year and so I called him on Saturday afternoon, but it went to voice mail so I left a message with my “mobile number” asking him to ring me back.  I still hadn’t heard from him today so I rang again and it went to voice mail again, I was half way through leaving my “mobile number” when I realised it was my old number redface and I couldn’t for the life of me remember what my current number was and I started blathering like an idiot lol.  In the end I hung up, had to check my number and ring him back.

He did actually ring me back about an hour later (it’s amazing how people actually return your calls when you leave the right number wink ).  I apologised to him for my previous messages with the wrong number and he said it was a good job I didn’t work for directory enquiries lol.

After yesterday, I came prepared today and took some Philly lightest and a brown sandwich thin.  It certainly made a difference and it was a much better day.  I haven’t even eaten the buttons that is my “share” of a selection box from a grateful doctor!  They are safely in my desk drawer and there they will (hopefully!) remain 🙂

My daily peek is showing a small loss from Saturday – which is good to know, however that will probably be wiped out after tonight! neutral  I am not going to worry about it as I rarely go out and I don’t drink the rest of the year so I’m going to enjoy myself at my sisters tonight.

Whatever you are doing I hope you have fun and here’s to a wonderful, happy and healthy 2014! biggrin Happy New Year EmoticonCocktail Glass EmoticonBeer Emoticon

Day 1 of stocktaking day today and that can only mean:

Stocktaking Extras

Goodies to see us through! redface  This week is going to be the first time in my journey that I will go into minus weeklies! lol  My excuse is that I needed to take pain killers for my back – and I couldn’t take them on an empty stomach lol.  Such a difference from last year.  Last year I was too scared to eat goodies as I felt that it could derail me, that it would be the slippery slope into going completely off track and putting back all the weight (72lbs) that I had worked hard to lose.  I ate 1 mince pie on each of the 2 stock taking days that I had already planned into my pps and didn’t touch the chocolates and boiled sweets that were also available.

Now I feel a lot more in control.  I know that nothing will stop me from getting to goal.  I know that I will put on weight over the next 3 weeks, but come the 2nd January 2014 I will be back on the wagon and I will lose that weight plus the 10lbs that I currently have to lose to get to goal.

Tuesday Meals 3

Tea was courtesy of my son.  I was in too much pain with my back and so my son made it.  Thankfully we’ve done the majority of the work today so hopefully my back should be OK tomorrow, but just in case I’ll be doing a slow cooker meal 🙂

I’m suffering with a severe case of face ache at the moment!  Someone at work had the bright idea of putting our pictures on our website neutral  I’ve always hated having my pic taken and losing weight has not changed that really.  When I smile, it looks more like a grimace! lol  So two days of having a forced smile has taken its toll on my face!  I must’ve had almost 100 pictures taken and the few that might have been alright were too dark or blurry!

Anyway I mentioned to my manager that I took a half decent one on Saturday and asked if I could use that.  The pictures will only be the size of a passport picture.  I was a little concerned because in the picture you would be able to see my bed and lamp, but my son has worked his magic and I think (hopefully – for the sake of my face!) that this should be OK:
