Daily Menu – Monday

Monday Meals 2

I would like to say that today has been better but it hasn’t lol, OK it hasn’t been as bad as yesterday but it still stinks razz.

I finally tried the Choc Shot, I didn’t measure it and it did seem to come out rather quickly so I’m going to point it as 1pp.  I wasn’t overly impressed with it tbh sad and I doubt that I will be having any more of it.  I think my tastes are really changing.  I noticed when I had the Special K Multi-grain Porridge it was too sweet for me – I suppose that’s a good thing really smile.

Tea was supposed to have been Pork Fajitas made with the left over pork from yesterday, but seeing as I didn’t like it I had the other new ready meal that I bought on Saturday.  It was very filling but again, it wasn’t anything special and I probably won’t buy it again – I actually added 1 tbsp on sweet chilli sauce to it to give it a little more flavour.

My finger is still sore and I’ve stupidly left my box of plasters at work confused which means that either I can’t wet my hands till I can get to the shops tomorrow lol or I’m going to be suffering every time I do wet them cry

I’ve now finished work for the week and I had been looking forward to having a rest – but circumstances mean that I won’t be having a rest and I’ll be lucky to get everything done that needs doing before going back to work next Tuesday neutral.

I’m sick of hearing myself moan lol so I’ll finish now 😀

Monday Meals 2

I was a little disappointed in my breakfast 😦  I think it might be an acquired taste lolMaybe by the end of the week it’ll have grown on me?

I have realised though that all this time that I’ve been having OSS I’ve been diddling myself out of 1pp eek Because I wasn’t sure whether the Special K packets had the same amount of porridge as the OSS, I measured the milk in the Special K packet and then poured it into my special OSS bowl and it reached the line – which is where I normally pour my milk to!

Simple Start – Day 3

Monday Meals 1

Still enjoying Simple Start, although I was hungry this afternoon, but that was my fault.  I usually have soup, crackers and cheese for my dinner, but forgot that I couldn’t have the crackers so all I have in are crabsticks! It also might have something to do with my pain killers too as I tend to feel more hungry when I have those and I needed them today. Thankfully I also have a bucket load of satsumas so I had a few more of those than I would normally have.  This will probably be the case for the rest of the week as I refuse to go food shopping more than once a week!  Think maybe a skinny latte will help 🙂

I still hadn’t heard from my GPs today so I rang them and booked a telephone consultation with the nurse.  She rang me back and apologised for not getting back to me.  She’s wrote a prescription for me and it will be ready for me to collect tomorrow.  I need to take the Vitamin D daily for 15 days and then once a week for at least 6 months when I will have my bloods repeated.

Tomorrow and Wednesday is the annual stock take at work, I’m hoping that my back will be OK for it, just have to make sure I take my pain killers with me.  The good thing about the stock take is that we get to listen to a radio while we work – yayyyyy 🙂 Hopefully the staff will take notice of the sign that we’ve put up saying that we are closed – last year they kept coming in saying “I know you’re closed but….”  but nothing!!!  We are closed!!!  Go away and come back when we are open! rolleyes

Monday Meals 2

The results are in and I have osteoporosis.  It was kinda expected but it’s still something that I have to come to terms with.  I could, potentially, have another 40 years of being in pain, which isn’t good but at least I know for certain now why I have been in so much pain.  I’ve got to have a blood test to check for calcium and vitamin D levels, but other than that there isn’t any other treatment, well there is but seeing as I’m not over 60, don’t weigh less than 7 stone and don’t have a family history of hip fracture then I don’t fall in the high risk category.  If the blood levels are low then I will need to take calcium and vitamin D supplements, along with the pain killers (which he has agreed to put on repeat prescription) which I can live with.

Breakfast – OSS (3), Semi Skimmed Milk (2) = 5pp

Snack – Satsumas

Dinner – Spicy Tomato and Red Pepper Soup (0), 5 x Jacob’s Choice Grain Crackers (4), 2 x Laughing Cow Light Triangles with Emmental (1) = 5pp

Monday Meals 1

Tea was delicious!  I’ve had gammon loads of times, but usually just buy the steaks. However, after joining a slow cooker group on Facebook and seeing lots of posts about this “recipe” I thought that this time I thought I would buy a joint.  So, before I went to work this morning, I poured a can of diet coke in the slow cooker and added half of a joint that I bought on Saturday (the whole joint was 2kg, so cut it in half).

When I came home the house smelt delicious!  I added a couple of shakes of Worcestershire sauce to it for the last hour and I have to say that I enjoyed every morsel of it!  It looks dry on the picture, but it wasn’t dry at all.
